Ready for Phonics Demo Videos

Slowly and deliberately guiding young viewers through phonics basics, Ready for Phonics relies on five animated fairy tales ("The Three Little Pigs," "The Little Red Hen," "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," "Little Red Riding Hood," and "The Shoemaker and the Elves") to introduce the alphabet in the first two videos.
After each nursery rhyme, a storybook opens and segments of the nursery rhyme come out in animated blowups, introducing each sound which will be reviewed. A comforting narrator voices the letters and asks viewers to repeat sounds and words, which are depicted in animation. Numbers and sight words -- such as the, see, and go -- are presented as well. The second DVD covers long and short vowels, blends, digraphs, and other combinations. Brightly colored letters and images back the measured narration in this solid instructional program, which stresses content over flashiness.
